In DATED, the fleeting pulse of the everyday becomes material for creation. The daily newspaper — a mirror of our collective moment — is transformed into sound, improvisation, and image. What commands attention today dissolves into silence tomorrow. Through voice, electronics, and live painting, DATED contemplates the rhythm of time and decay — tracing what endures and what inevitably fades once the day is done. A meditation on impermanence, presence, and the fragile beauty of now.

As a classical soprano and performer, Kelly Poukens has received numerous international awards, nominations, and critical acclaim for her warm voice, textual sensitivity, personality, and expressiveness. She has won several prizes and awards in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and the United States.
During the Queen Elisabeth Competition for Voice 2023, the press described her as “the most colorful candidate of the year.” Her story was featured in the podcast Queen Kelly, which was shortlisted for the Ultimas Audience Award and nominated for the Oorkondes Podcast Awards.
She has appeared in productions with Dutch National Opera & Ballet, Holland Opera, Opera Zuid, Nederlandse Reisopera, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, and others. As a soloist, she has performed on many national and international stages.
Kelly has a particular passion for contemporary work. For five years, she performed alongside actor Jan Decleir in the contemporary music theatre piece Landru, composed by Frederick Neyrinck. In London, she created roles in several operas by composer A. White: “Designer” in WEAR (shortlisted for the Scottish New Music Award), “Storyteller” in ROBE (nominated for the Creative Edinburgh Award), “TAM” in WOAD, and the solo monologue CAPITAL — the first virtual reality opera presented at Metaverse Fashion Week 2023 (shortlisted for The Stage Awards and the Ivan Juritz Prize).
As an interdisciplinary artist, Kelly often thinks “out of the box,” offering new perspectives on established norms and disciplines. Starting from a conceptual approach, she creates performances in which her voice often enters into dialogue with the voice of society at that moment. What for many is a boundary becomes, for her, a passage. She continually seeks new forms in which her voice is not only a musical instrument but also a mirror of the present. In doing so, she regularly collaborates with other artists and creators.

Tom Andries (1969) is a Belgian multidisciplinary designer and contemporary artist. His main body of work consists of abstract monochromes painted with black ink. Originally trained as a typographer and having made a generous career in graphic design and branding, Tom uncovers the hidden beauty of typography, by zooming in on its intrinsic abstract qualities. Inspired by minimalism, modernist painting and mid-century architecture, his work reflects an ongoing quest towards the absolute bare essence of art.
The proof is in the painting. The largest part of Tom’s work-process is absorbed by the meticulous preparation of a heavily texturised black ink – a mix of acrylic, Indian ink and charcoal – which he generated himself and has perfected over the years. The act of painting consists of but a few sudden and concise strokes of the heavy brush within a short frame of time, referencing to gesture painting. All is done in complete silence.
